Bodywork and Massage
I am a graduate of the 700 hr Bodywork Therapy Program at the Vancouver School of Healing Arts. The style of massage I practice draws primarily from Swedish and Deep Tissue modalities, and blends elements of foot reflexology and joint release in an intuitive treatment that combines flowing rhythmic strokes with deeper, sustained pressure where needed, to release tension and facilitate deep relaxation. While working to nourish the the physical tissues of the body, I also hold an intentional container for the emotional and energetic body to flow into a state of harmony and coherence.
In addition to offering bodywork treatments, I am certified in Prenatal Massage. As a doula and a bodyworker, it is a joy and an honour to work with expectant mamas in this way during their pregnancy journey. |
Treatments
I accept payment through Etransfer or cash, and my rates include 5% GST. Etransfers can be completed prior to or following the treatment (preferably in the same day) to: heartroot.kristin@gmail.com
75 Min. Massage : $105
Sessions with me begin at 75 min. This is ideal for receiving a full body massage that feels complete, and allows time for a specific area of focus to be worked on.
90 Min. Massage : $120
I recommend the 90 min. massage for anyone needing a good dose of self care. It allows for multiple areas of focus, and may incorporate aspects of the body that don’t commonly get addressed, such as the abdomen and face.
120 Min. Massage : $150
This is a luxurious treatment that allows for a deep drop-in to the full terrain of your body. It includes full facial massage (if desired) and extended reflexology, along with multiple areas of focus. It will leave you feeling absolutely pampered. The 2 hour treatment is a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion, or to give as a gift to someone you love.
90 Min. Hot Stone Massage: $135
Smooth basalt stones are heated and applied to the body to facilitate a deep state of relaxation. The penetrating heat from the stones melts away muscle tension, increases circulation, and often induces a dreamy state in the recipient. While stones are placed stationary on energetic points of the body, the core benefit is received by being massaged with them. I also blend deep tissue and Swedish manual techniques into the treatment. People often say, “It feels like a sauna and a massage at the same time!”

"Kristin has a very instinctive touch. It is sensitive, present and intelligent. While on Salt Spring for 2 months, I could not do without her massages- Such a beautiful healing of body and mind that envelops you in softness and well-being. I felt the benefits both physically and energetically. In addition, she has all the strength and accuracy in those magic hands! Not only is Kristin lovable, engaging and attentive as a person, but also a talented bodyworker who is second to none. I hope for everyone to find their 'Kristin'!"

Prenatal Massage
75 min. Prenatal Massage: $105 ~ 90 min. Prenatal Massage: $120
A prenatal massage is an excellent opportunity to drop into your body and connect with your baby, in a space lovingly held with the intention to nurture the pregnant mama. Using light to medium pressure, I work to relieve muscle tension in common areas of complaint such as the hips, low back, and shoulders, while making the whole body feel cared for and deeply relaxed.
Depending on where you are at in your pregnancy, we will work with a combination of positions that are safe and comfortable. Please note that I do not use the type of pregnancy table that allows for the pregnant mom to lie prone (face-down). Instead, I work with the side-lying position, which is deemed to be the safest and most posturally neutral for the pregnant body past the first trimester.
